Does Christmas make anyone else want to do ALL THE THINGS? That first frost hits and I feel like I need decorations everywhere, and pine forest candles burning while cinnamon polar bear cookies are baking. Basically, the holidays makes me want to be extra extra. But this year, I’m looking to take the easy way out sometimes. I don’t want to waste a Christmas second caught up in silly things (ahem, hours on the internet looking for matching pajamas) when I could be convincing the boys that Home Alone 2 is THE holiday movie to watch. So, here it is – STEP ONE! A small tweak to our usual matching family Christmas pajamas. It’s so simple and makes no difference at the end of the holiday, but it does make shopping SO much easier. Okay, so what’s the trick right? Not matching, but co-ordinating Christmas pajamas. Like same colour scheme, they go together, but are they the SAME? No. Because here’s the thing about matching family pajamas… it can be kind of impossible to find ones that you like, in everyone’s size, even if you’re shopping early. This year instead of running around the entire internet checking stock, I decided to just coordinate everyone’s pajamas instead. Still festive, still going to be cute for that Christmas morning in front of the tree photo (we’re all thinking about it a little right?) but not an ordeal to find. YAY!
I shopped around at 3 or 4 stores online before I found some options I liked, and (another tip!) I ordered 2 different pairs for each of us. That way if something doesn’t fit (bound to happen between the four of us) we have a backup. You can’t wait to return and order new sets, because sizes go crazy fast when it comes to Christmas pajamas. Also why I forced myself to get this post up before ours even arrived in the mail haha. If you’re wondering about the pajamas shown in these photos, they’re Burts Bees Baby from two Christmases ago (they have a ton of festive options too!). I can’t believe how little my boys were and how long my hair was, and that house all done up for the holidays – so cozy! I’ve never actually shared all the photos from this shoot so let me know if you want to see the rest of that holiday tour. It was Crew’s first Christmas and the decor was toddler friendly and so FUN. Need to track down the giant snowflakes I had ASAP…
