I partnered with buybuy BABY for the Babyletto Sprout twin bed and DKNY Kids Pretzel Sheet Set featured in this post. All opinions are my own.
Confession: It’s taken me two years to add anything other than a bed, dresser, and new light fixture to Cohen’s room. WHY didn’t I do this sooner? Oh right, because I was paralyzed by all the decisions haha. That and I kept picking the wrong beds for his space. More on that below…

The bed dilemma
This is the THIRD bed I’ve picked out for Cohen. Yikes. In my defence, his room is an odd shape, and the only spot to put his bed is in this nook. So my first pick, a loft bed, just looked like a box inside of a box. Not great. Then I chose a trundle bed, because FUN, sleepovers. But that overpowered this little nook and left no space for a side table, or anything else really. Another miss that left me feeling stuck.
By this point, my confidence level was low, like after you try to take both kids through the grocery store without a cart, after school no less. Feeling defeated right? BUT I had learned what I actually needed in a bed for this space. Something low to the ground, clean lines, that would stand out in this little bed nook without overpowering the smaller space. I also wanted the frame to be wood.

Here’s where buy buy BABY enters the story to save the day, kind of like a mom’s version of the Rescue Bots. It’s midnight, I accidentally on purpose drank a late afternoon coffee, and so I’m wide awake scrolling Pinterest in bed. I get a little inspiration and I hop on over to their website and click into kid’s furniture. Searched by brand (I love Babyletto’s line) and then landed on this Sprout Twin Bed within 15 mins. Added to cart, paid, and had a tracking number emailed to me as soon as it shipped. And it shipped sooner than expected, which is basically like finding out your husband is coming home from work early. YES PLEASE. Best part of all is the bed arrives on my doorstep. Call me crazy (3 beds later my husband might too LOL) but furniture shopping with two little boys and a man who has already assembled and disassembled two other beds is not how I want to do a Saturday.
On that note, assembling the bed was VERY easy. 30 minutes tops, and everything you need comes along with bed. That means no digging through your husband’s tool box of 1000 screwdrivers. I was impressed by how sturdy the frame is too. My boys can definitely jump on this bed without me hovering with worry, sooo, that’s nice right?

I also picked up this adorable pretzel sheet set by DKNY during my late night shopping escapades. Cohen thinks they’re the greatest thing and somehow we wind up talking about pretzels every night before bed now. Yum.
What’s next?
Lots of you voted on Instagram for the bed to be centered on the wall as opposed to in the corner, so that’s how I set it up here! But I still like the idea of pushing it back so things feel more spacious. Layouts are always the hardest decision for me! I’ll probably play with this one a bit.
Opposite this spot Cohen’s room has two closets; I plan on making one a super fun play spot for him (hellooo twinky lights and toy storage) and the other I’ll reorganize to hold all of his clothes (aka super fun for me). Between the closets is another nook with a window; planning on adding a desk and a spot to hang all his artwork/photos/random pieces of paper he insists on holding on to here.

Anyone else working on their kids’ rooms right now? I always save cute boys’ rooms to this Pinterest board if you’re looking for inspo (or just having a late night scroll sesh because, afternoon coffees.)
